Big Sean Re-Issues Seminal ‘Detroit’ Mixtape

On its 10th birthday...

Big Sean has re-issued his seminal ‘Detroit’ mixtape.

Initially released 10 years ago, ‘Detroit’ sparked his rise and marked Big Sean out as a key player in Stateside rap.

Available as a download, the mixtape was absent from streaming services, which only helped underline its potency. Receiving more than a million downloads on its first day, ‘Detroit’ helped crash DatPiff, becoming an instant internet-phenomenon.

The tape features J Cole, Jhene Aiko, and Chris Brown, with Big Sean finally placing ‘Detroit’ on streaming services for its 10th birthday.

The mixtape is bolstered with unreleased cut ‘More Thoughts’ and is accompanied by a freshly pressed up deluxe CD, which can be purchased from the Def Jam shop.
