Betty’s ‘Not Enough’ Is A Rhythmic Rebellion

Debut EP ‘Mind Over Matter’ lands in June...

DIY London musician Betty today shares her new single ‘Not Enough’, out via EYC Records.

Betty previously conveyed the singles ‘Mum Says’ & ‘Take Me Under’, and ‘Not Enough’ is another primer to her forthcoming debut EP ‘Mind Over Matter’, slated for release late June. Produced with Oscar Scheller (Shygirl, PinkPantheress, Take Van), the cacophonous ‘Not Enough’ captures the maelstrom of Betty’s self-destructive behaviour and how it takes shape, or prevents, the blooming of healthy relationships.

“I wrote this song in literally twenty minutes, basically saying I’m a d**khead so don’t let me into your life”, says Betty. “It’s funny because it’s a sad concept on a hype song. If you let me in, I’ll do this, if you let me in, I’ll do that. Cause this is what I’m really like. I’m all this sh*t so don’t even bother.”

“Me and Oscar got in the studio, he started making the beat and we didn’t overthink it. Subconsciously it came from a true place, but I think I manifest this stuff happening sometimes. I was listening the other day and I was like this is the situation I’m in… “Oh he’s got a girlfriend, what a shame, I’ve chased him around… look at this mess I didn’t have to make”. I love the unattainable.”

Partnering with meme page curator X director @perv3rsecowgirls once again, Betty took cues from internet culture to develop a series of specially commissioned visuals for ‘Not Enough’, while the official video was directed by friend and photographer Tyrell Hampton in New York.
