Best Coast Return With New Album

'The Only Place' due on May 14th

Best Coast have outlined plans to release their second album ‘The Only Place’ on May 14th.

Best Coast have made no secret of the fact that they have been working on new material. Bethany Cosentino has given a number of interviews, telling Pitchfork: “This record is really personal – much more personal than ‘Crazy For You’. The songs are mostly about me, what I’ve been through in the last two years, how my life has changed, and what I’ve learned because of it. It’s a very therapeutic record for me – I was able to get a lot off of my chest. Songwriting is the easiest way to do that for me. There are definitely still songs about love, but it’s done in a different way now.”

Now it seems the new record is ready to hit the shelves. ‘The Only Place’ will be released on May 14th, with both the title track and cover paying homage to California.

The full tracklisting contains eleven songs, including three tracks which have seen release already in a rough form. ‘How They Want Me To Be’, ‘Up All Night’ and ‘Dreaming My Life Away’ are all available in various places online – have a look!
