Benge Album Announced

Synth Composer Gets Busy

Ben ‘Benge’ Edwards has one of the finest collections of antique synths in the country, and is set to show them off on his new album ‘Twenty Systems’ set for release on October 20th.

A renowned composer in the industry, with credits that run from jingles to the soundtracks of cheap castaway movies, Ben Edwards is a true maverick genius. Composing entirely on antique synths, Edwards crafts enormous soundscapes pushing the technology to the limit.

‘Twenty Systems’ brings together this twin love for composing and collecting. Each track is produced to showcase the pure sound
of one vintage synthesiser with no editing, processing or effects added in. Not so much an album as an aural history lesson, it has already been called “a brilliant contribution to the archaeology of electronic music” by none other than Brian Eno.

With antique synths being used by such groups as Radiohead, Klaxons, Hot Chip and many, many more this is a timely release and an insight into one of the more unusually creative minds in Britain.

‘Twenty Systems’ comes bound with the CD is a beautifully presented and carefully researched hardback book, written by Edwards with a foreword by Robin Rimbaud.

Benge releases ‘Twenty Systems’ on October 20th through Expanding Records.
