Beirut Prepare Seven Inch

Ahead of British tour dates

Beirut are preparing to release a new seven inch ahead of their British tour dates.

Taking time off after the release of their 2009 EP ‘March Of The Zapotec’ Beirut are ready to return. Working on fresh material, Zach Condon & Co. are now preparing to release a new seven inch.

Available from June 6th, Beirut will press ‘East Harlem’ and ‘Goshen’ onto seven inch vinyl. Condon’s own label Pompeii Records are to handle the single, with Beirut using limited edition blue or white vinyl.

Two contrasting sides, ‘East Harlem’ is a jaunty, ukulele driven pop number. The flipside ‘Goshen’ meanwhile is centred on the piano, with Zach Condon giving a heartfelt vocal performance.

Auguring well for a potential new album, the single comes as Zach Condon appears on the new Blondie album. The New York group tackle a Beirut track, before Condon adds his vocals to a new song.

Out now, the album comes as Beirut prepare for a series of European shows. Set to support The National on the continent, the band are also due to support Arcade Fire at their epic Hyde Park show on June 30th.

Aside from this, Beirut are set to play at the End Of The Road festival in Dorset on September 2nd. With a new album set to drop later this year, the band have confirmed two headline shows in September.

The group will perform in Manchester on September 6th, before a show in London’s Brixton Academy on September 16th.

Tickets are on sale now.

Beirut are due to play the following shows:

6 Manchester Academy
16 London Brixton Academy
