A unique talent, last year's decision to release an album's worth of new material as sheet music took even Beck's most hardened fans by surprise.
Allowing for a myriad of interpretations, the project both puzzled and inspired in equal measure. Now the American songwriter has revealed plans for a new, rather more standard, release.
Announcing a short burst of solo shows, Beck outlined plans for a new acoustic album. Seemingly the record came "in the form of a burst of inspiration" after the completion of 'Song Reader'.
Back in November, the singer revealed that he had been working on a new album since 2008. Could this be the results of those songwriting sessions, or did Beck commence a new project? We'll soon find out…
