American songsmith, scientologist and alt rock pin up Beck is set to release a massive five LP box-set version of his album ‘The Information’, it has been announced.
Beck is currently in the middle of a vast North American tour for his ‘Modern Guilt’ album, released earlier this year. A song from that album, ‘Gamma Ray’ was recently released as a single alongside a re-working of the track by Jay Retard, alongside a new song by Beck titled ‘Bonfire Blonde’.
Beck has also seen fit to re-release his album ‘The Information’ in a luxurious five LP box set format. Costing a whopping $175, it will contain four 180 gram virgin vinyl 12″ LPs and one 140 gram virgin 10″. Unusually, it will also come with a 24-color fine art pen set.
Released in 2006, ‘The Information’ was one of Beck’s most commercially successful records, but due to the UK’s strict chart laws was banned from the album countdown due to album artwork that came with free stickers.
Both the ‘Gamma Ray’ single and ‘The Information’ box set are available now.
