Beastie Boys Name New Album

'Hot Sauce Committee' unveiled

Returning hip hop brats The Beastie Boys have named their forthcoming studio album ‘Hot Sauce Committee’.

The Beastie Boys began life as a nasty little hardcore punk band, before becoming a nasty little hip hop group. Signing with Def Jam Records producer Rick Rubin placed a thundering riff beneath a knockabout rap the band had composed, accidentally triggering perennial ode to debauchery ‘Fight For Your Right To Party’.

Labelled as novelty group Beastie Boys hit back, teaming up with producers The Dust Brothers to work on seminal hip hop albums ‘Paul’s Boutique’ and ‘Check Your Head’. Gaining respect from the hip hop community the band have gone on to become one of America’s most celebrated acts.

The band have not released a new album since 2007, but announced last year they were to begin work on a new album. A host of guest stars are rumoured to have dropped by for recording sessions, with Santigold among those confirmed for the new album.

In a statement to fans, the group announced recently:

“Our new record that is coming out that we finished the other day is called HOT SAUCE COMMITTEE”.

The band refused to give much away, but are confirmed to star on ‘Late Night With Jimmy Fallon’ and are scheduled to discuss the new album.

In an interview with Billboard recently the group revealed that their new material is “very wordy”. Adam ‘Ad Rock’ Horovitz told the US entertainment bible that “it’s a lot of vocals, a lot of words – very wordy”.

“And it’s political, depending on what you call political. You know, if toilet talk and fart jokes are political, which they can be, in that sense yeah, very.”

Beastie Boys spent much of 2008 playing ‘Rock The Vote’ shows across the United States. Designed to encourage voter registration, the concerts saw the rap trio sharing the bill with the likes of Sheryl Crow, Norah Jones and many more.

The group have been looking backwards of late. Legendary albums ‘Paul’s Boutique’ and ‘Check Your Head’ have been re-issued, with plenty of bonus material available to give an extra insight into these Rosetta stones of hip hop.

Beastie Boys are due to release their new album ‘Hot Sauce Committee’ later this year.
