UK beatboxing legend Beardyman is set to return in a special appearance at the UK Beatboxing Championships.
Having won the two previous tournaments – the first person in history to have won the event twice – Beardyman has nothing to prove in this year’s event and so won’t actually be competing. Beardyman is a cult figure to many after a series of extremely popular videos appeared online, and won a warm reception after an appearance on the BBC programme “When Will I Be Famous?”.
The UK Beatboxing Championships will take place in the Islington Academy on Friday 13th June, and the number of entries for this year’s tournament has shot up after the announcement that Beardyman wouldn’t be competing. An ever-popular live attraction, Beardyman’s rise to fame has resulted in impromptu live collaborations with dance giants Fatboy Slim and David Guetta, as well as a support slot with Groove Armada.
Currently working on his debut release, Beardyman will be one of the festival attractions of the summer playing at Glastonbury, Lovebox and many more.
