Beady Eye x Black Sabbath Chart Battle

Rock icons race to number one...

Beady Eye and Black Sabbath are engaged in a battle for the UK's number one album.

In a year of huge comebacks, a decent chart battle was always on the cards. However somehow the release schedule managed to keep most of the big hitters apart, safely secluded in carefully organised campaigns.

Until now. Beady Eye and Black Sabbath both released new albums on Monday (June 10th) and, according to those all important mid-week figures, it looks like a close race to number one.

Black Sabbath have nudged their way out in front, with '13' pushing Beady Eye's own 'BE' effort down into second.

Perusing the Clash reviews, it's difficult to decide which way this might go. Black Sabbath's '13' release scores a mighty 8/10 – the exact same score as offered to Beady Eye's second album 'BE'.

Perhaps the weekend sales will decide things. Both bands have a heavy schedule, but Beady Eye's performance on 'The Voice' might just swing things in their favour.

Check back to find out who is victorious…
