Beady Eye are set to introduce a few Oasis classics into their live set this summer.
Emerging from the wreckage of Oasis, Beady Eye seemed to cut off their past. Removing traces of the Britpop giants, the band refused to introduce tracks from their former employers into their live set.
However that attitude seems to have waned. Speaking to XFM recently, Liam Gallagher confirmed that Beady Eye will pepper their set with a few, select Oasis cuts when playing live this summer.
“We’re doing Fuji Festival in Japan, which is in July. And we will be dropping Oasis songs for anyone who’s bothered” he said.
“The time is right now, without a doubt” he continued. “We were always going to do it, but we thought the (Beady Eye) album needed to stand on its own.”
“We’ve done some good gigs, we’ve done some shit gigs. And it’s time to drop them in now. Everyone else is. I feel they’re just as much my songs as they are Noel’s. And if people don’t like it, go to the bar or fuck off. If they do like it, jump up and down, let’s have a good time.”
The shift in attitude brings Beady Eye in line with Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds. Gallagher Snr has always acknowledged his commitment to the Oasis back catalogue, often opening his sets with ‘It’s Good To Be Free’.
Beady Eye’s last major British engagement was at the Brixton Academy last November. ClashMusic were there, both reporting and taking snaps.
