Beach Fossils will release new album ‘Bunny’ on June 2nd.
The Brooklyn group last released an album in 2021, with ‘The Other Side of Life: Piano Ballads’; the last full-band record came in 2017, with ‘Somersault’.
New album ‘Bunny’ ends the wait for something fresh, and it finds Beach Fossils evolving once more. Lead single ‘Don’t Fade Away’ is an apt introduction, though, tapping into the band’s melodic roots while also transporting that energy elsewhere.
Dustin Payseur leads from the front, producing throughout. On ‘Don’t Fade Away’, the sunshine pop is lit up by a vocal that contains endless pangs of melancholy. Kevin Clark directs the video, which features the frontman crooning across some instantly recognisable backdrops.
He says of the song: “‘Don’t Fade Away’ is about missing old friends, being on tour, self-medicating, longing, anxiety, love, being an idiot, having fun, embracing your mistakes and keeping your spark.”
Tune in now.
