BBC Sound Of 2017

The long-list for the BBC Sound Of 2017 poll has been announced.

The list gathers the opinions of critics and broadcasters across the land, with previous winners including Years & Years, Sam Smith, and Adele.

The competition for 2017's title looks to be fierce, with the longlist being unveiled a few hours ago.

The resurgent forces of UK hip-hop and grime are dominant, with half of 2017's longlist being plucked from what could loosely be termed urban genres.

There's room for indie, folk, and electronics too, with the BBC Sound Of poll proving to be enduringly eclectic.

The list runs as follows:

AJ Tracey
Anderson .Paak
Declan McKenna
Jorja Smith
Maggie Rogers
Nadia Rose
Rag ‘n’ Bone Man
Stefflon Don
The Amazons
The Japanese House
Tom Grennan
