The BBC, in association with EMI, is set to release a series of classic, and unreleased, recordings by a number of the Punk, Post Punk and 2-Tone movements’ leading bands.
Groups such as The Stranglers, Rich Kids (Steve Jones and Paul Cook’s post Sex Pistols group), The Skids, 999, The Specials, The Selector, Ultravox and Dexys Midnight Runners all have classic John Peel and David ‘Kid’ Jensen radio sessions and in concert sets available for the first time as digital downloads.
A number of albums will also be made available digitally including long players by Angelic Upstarts, Rich Kids, Oi! – The Album and the Zonophone Punk Singles.
