Battles For Twilight Soundtrack

New details emerge

Math rock titans Battles are amongst the latest additions to the soundtrack of ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’.

‘Twilight’ is a phenomenon. Re-working the vampire myth for a modern teenage audience, it features plenty of model / acting types biting each other while engaged in some form of existential doubt.

Between the myriad of books and films, the ‘Twilight’ saga has come to dominate pop culture. Forthcoming instalment ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ is set for release this summer, with an all star soundtrack.

Previously, it was revealed that Muse, Vampire Weekend, The Dead Weather and more were to star on the soundtrack. The standard edition of the album is due for release on June 8th, with an expanded edition also in the works.

Amongst the groups confirmed for the expanded edition are Battles. The American math rock band are vastly influential, with their debut album ‘Mirrored’ standing as one of the finest albums released in the past five years.

Currently at work on their second full length effort, Battles have loaned ‘The Line’ the soundtrack of the forthcoming vampire flick. Also appearing on the deluxe edition are Bombay Bicycle Club with acts such as Metric, Band Of Horses and more donating material to the album.

Meanwhile, Muse have been chosen as the lead single. Their track ‘Neutron Star Collision (Love Is Forever)’ was released digitally last night (May 17th).
