Spectral songwriter Bat For Lashes is due to return with her new single ‘Daniel’.
Real name Natasha Khan, Bat For Lashes is one of Britain’s most unique songwriting talents. Her lavish debut album stunned the music world on its release in 2005, winding up with a nomination in the Mercury Music Prize.
Set to return with new material, ‘Daniel’ is the first glimpse fans will get of Khan’s new music. Apparently inspired by her first crush, ‘Daniel’ reeks of teenage innocence and insecurity. A charming lullaby, it sings of long summer nights driving through forests.
The single is boosted by the guest appearance of Yeasayer’s Ira Wolf Yuton who can be heard adding some wicked Fleetwood Mac style basslines.
In addition to this Bat For Lashes has stunned fans with a new video. ‘Joshua & The Bat’ is a wonderful insight into the creative life of Natasha Khan and features two songs from forthcoming album ‘Two Suns’ on the soundtrack.
Bat For Lashes releases her new single as a digital download on March 1st. The vinyl release follows on April 6th.
