Bat For Lashes has shared beautiful new song ‘At Your Feet’.

The songwriter – Natasha Khan – has returned to the UK, and become a mother, a theme that permeates her new work. Sixth studio album ‘The Dream Of Delphi’ is out on May 31st, and new single – the fourth to emerge, thus far – ‘At Your Feet’ is online now.

Opening with feather-soft piano notes, it’s a Nyman-esque piece produced with palpable intimacy – you can practically hear her fingers on top of the keys.

Slowly a song emerges, with the soft incantation carrying a purposeful after-hours appeal. Improvisatory in its approach, ‘At Your Feet’ has something truly other-worldly in its veins.

“I improvised this song, all the piano and vocoder parts, from start to finish. The words are all about the hallucinatory state of being sleep deprived in the night, breastfeeding, rocking the baby: so tired, so aware that I almost have no say in this devotional nocturnal practice of caring for my child.”

The video for ‘At Your Feet’ is out now, and it draws on visual counterpart ‘The Dream Of Delphi – A New Transmission’, a 34-minute film that will be unveiled shortly.

Tune in now.
