Bastille Surprise Fans With ‘Give Me The Future + Dreams Of The Past’

A hugely expanded version of their hit album...

Bastille have laid out plans for new project ‘Give Me The Future + Dreams Of The Past’.

The band’s recent album ‘Give Me The Future’ raced to No. 1 on its release, a daring pop sequence that touched on personal and societal themes. Hitting the road, Bastille completed a fully sold out UK tour, but it seems they aren’t done yet.

Hosting a recent web Q&A, Dan Smith revealed that Bastille were already pondering something new. ‘Give Me The Future + Dreams Of The Past’ offers a hugely expanded take on the original album, replete with unheard ideas and newly recorded songs.

“In releasing this version of the record, we wanted to give the complete picture of what we intended with this album and also explore the idea that you can choose your own adventure,” Dan says. “You can dive into the ideas of the future and an electronic world, or you can fall back into the past – away from technology and into ideas of memory and nostalgia – both thematically and musically. Or you can choose full-on dancefloor heartbreak escape.”

Out on August 26th it features an additional album’s worth of material, starting with new single ‘Revolution’. Tap in below.
