Barry Can’t Swim Shares ‘The Person You’d Like To Be’

His first new music in 2025...

Scottish producer Barry Can’t Swim returns with new track ‘The Person You’d Like To Be’.

The Edinburgh-born musician shared his titanic debut album ‘When Will We Land?’ in 2023, and his life immediately went on fast forward. Nominated for a BRIT, shortlisted at the Mercury, Barry Can’t Swim caused a road block at Glastonbury, before selling out London’s O2 Academy Brixton three times over.

New track ‘The Person You’d Like To Be’ is a palette cleanser, a step into a fresh arena. The vocals – the producer and spoken word artist Seamus – are distorted, playing with notions of identity, and sincerity in an insincere world.

Harking back to the electronics he grew up with, the track allows Barry Can’t Swim space to evolve into fresh arenas.

As the track notes “there is nothing permanent, except change” – check it out below.

Barry Can’t Swim will play All Points East in London this summer, alongside Lost Village Festival and Bristol event FORWARDS.
