Barenaked Ladies Drugs Case

Frontman Has Charge Reduced

Barenaked Ladies frontman Steven Page has had his upcoming drugs case reduced from a felony to a misdemeanor in a New York court, it has been reported.

The court hearing took place in New York on October 28th. Lead singer Steven Page was arrested in July after being found in possession of cocaine when visiting his girlfriend Christine Benedicto.

As well as reducing the charges Fayetteville Village Court issue what is known as adjournment in contemplation of dismissal. This means that all charges will be dropped if Steven Page stays out of trouble for six months.

“I’m grateful…for this opportunity to further prove myself as a productive and law-abiding member of society,” Page said in court. “I look forward to the next six months as a period of healing and growth.”

The arrest came as Barenaked Ladies were releasing a new album aimed at children.
