Alongside a flurry of UK shows...

Barbarossa is set to release new single 'Pagliaccio' on August 19th.

Real name James Mathé, London's Barbarossa has been seducing us with his high, keening tones for some time. Now working with Memphis Industries, new album 'Bloodlines' will be released on August 5th.

Unusually, the songwriter can point to a specific point of inspiration for the atmosphere on the record - Vincent Gallo’s cult '90s film Buffalo 66. In particular, James Mathé notes "the end scene which features Yes's Heart of the Sunrise and the scene with Cristina Ricci dancing to King Crimson’s Moonshine at a bowling hall".

Intrigued? Well, new single 'Pagliaccio' is set to be released on August 19th. Available to stream online, it blends Barbarossa's inventive, vivid songwriting with flutterings of electronica which meld together with beautiful results.
