According to some recent studies, Sheffield is the happiest city in the UK.
And while Bad Taste Records aren't directly responsible for this piece of (questionable) information, the hip-hop/bass mainstays have been existing and fueling electronic music heads for a whole five years in the Steel City.
To celebrate this half decade milestone, they've lovingly put together two compilations, packed with new exclusives and a few old favourites.
The first volume deals with the straight-up hip-hop side of things, while Volume Two mines the bass-heavy end of the dance music pool, with an array of deep cuts from Walter Ego, Darkstorm and a hefty Tweet remix from Itoa.
We're providing the first listen of Affelaye's brilliant 'You're Everywhere', a trip-hoppy, ambient piece of work that takes everyday drizzle and reworks it into something cosmically beautiful.
They're generous chaps, too, as you can grab both compilations for free here via Bandcamp: https://badtaste.bandcamp.com/album/btr-5th-anniversary-vol-2
