BABii has shared new single ‘Sweet Tooth’.
The avant-pop voyager is back, with new album ‘DAREDEVIL2000’ set to land on October 11th. A slew of Asian headline dates are planned, with BABii also set to host an immersive experience – titled The DD2000 Collection Investigation and Seized Evidence Auction – in London at Metamorphika Studio. Opening on October 10th, it will then run between October 11th and 20th.
Out now, new single ‘Sweet Tooth’ deals with addiction and indulgence, with BABii wrapping these themes in glossy, sci-fi hewn tones.
Stretching pop boundaries to breaking point, she indulges her passion for club tropes, the epic bounce in the beat aligned to that killer vocal.
She comments…
‘Sweet Tooth’ emerged from me stumbling across an old beat Pholo had sent me that had been collecting dust on my hard drive. I dunno what it was but it just hit different that day to the first time I had heard it and I was vibing with it so much that I decided to write to it, only to find out it had already been used for something else.
Luckily, Warpstr came to the rescue, and we rebuilt it from the ground up. I’m glad it went through this evolution cause it ended up becoming one of the most interesting tracks on my album. The song itself explores themes of addiction and indulgence, highlighting how we often make unconscious decisions without deliberate thought or care in aid of a quick fix and in spite of our wellbeing…
