Aziya Shares New ‘Lonely Castles’ EP

Songs about isolation, and the need for connection...

Aziya returns with new EP ‘Lonely Castles’.

Out now, it’s another sign of her incredible rise. Aziya made her debut back in 2021 with the excellent single ‘Slip!’ before emphasising her vibrancy with opening EP ‘We Speak Of Tides’.

Since then she has continued to grow, pursuing solitary paths with soulful finesse. Recently making her return, Aziya has now shared her ‘Lonely Castles’ EP in its entirety.

Work that speaks eloquently of isolation and the need for connection, the EP contrasts online relationships with real-world encounters. Featuring the “near-cosmic limbo” that dominates ‘Mars Retrograde’ or the alienation of app-based dating on ‘Atomic’, the EP is a literate, heartfelt look at the world we find ourselves in.

Aziya comments…

‘LONELY CASTLES’ is a metaphor for the isolation we feel in a world that on the surface is overflowing with online connection at the tip of our fingers, but in reality masks the loneliness and darkness in the real world.

Whether it’s ‘mars retrograde’ and touching upon the infinite near-cosmic limbo we face when being left on read, or ‘atomic’ which is about the fear that hook-up culture and online dating has killed the true love in 2023, or ‘chain’ which is a call for unity in a world that’s so polarised, all of the songs pin together the very real story of what it looks like to live in the 21st century.

Tune in now.
