Serving as a reset, her new single ‘Commas’ opens a fresh chapter in her work. The production is pristine but low-key, the subtle songwriting infused with soulful allure.
A song about embracing confidence, Ayra Starr has learned to stop chasing – and allow her dreams to follow her. She sings: “See my fire burning bright… steady increasing the commas, commas commas commas.”

“Since I recorded ‘Commas’, I’ve listened to it everyday because of how it makes me feel. Amongst other things, it’s my love letter to people that have rejected me at any point. People should listen and feel confident by knowing that they can increase the commas in anything they do in life.”
