Avelino has shared his new ‘2024 Freestyle’.
The North London rapper is one of the best in the game, someone whose catalogue speaks for itself. From those early bangers to his deeper cuts, Avelino continually surprises, engaging his audience on a level they can understand.
‘2024 Freestyle’ kicks off the New Year, with Avelino utilising a beat from all-star producer Hit-Boy. Fresh from his much-vaunted projects with Nas, Hit-Boy supplies the bedrock of this literate, revealing freestyle.
Out now, it comes as Avelino signs off the chapter surrounding his long-awaited debut album ‘God Save The Streets’. On its release, the rapper wrote an essay for Clash:
On this album, I did most of it sober, I didn’t do late studio sessions, and I was in this flow that allowed everything to fall into place. I learnt as I went along that you don’t need to overwork yourself to do great things. You need to aim, let go and do what you’ve got to do, and then things will fall into place.
