Songwriter august at night returns with new song ‘Greyhound’.
The rising force emerged last year, his debut EP signalling the arrival of a bold talent. Subtle but oh-so-striking, the emotional resonance in august at night’s work was coupled to a deft use of melody.
Comparisons were made with Lizzy McAlpine, for instance, while the lyrical flair – and willingness to open up – put Clash in mind of Mustafa.
New single ‘Greyhound’ is out now, and it finds the young artist taking stock. Songwriting of palpable elegance, the lyrics allow august at night space to sit outside of himself, looking at his life from different angles.
Remaining true to himself, ‘Greyhound’ is a finessed return, the immaculate shading and rendering transforming the song into a palpably visual object.
He comments…
“Some things are a return. Like that reminder of the deeper truth in every song, in every piece of art. A little glimpse of who you were and who you’re becoming. That thing that remains. This song, for me, is that return.”
Tune in now.
