A nine year old Texan boy has become the 10th fatality of the AstroWorld crush.
Ezra Blount of Dallas died over the weekend, after being put into a medically induced coma by medical professionals.
In a GoFundMe post to help with medical bills, the boy's father described his terrifying experiences, and the devastating impact it has had on his family.
Treston Blount – Ezra's father – explained that Ezra was sitting on his shoulders when the crush happened, knocking him over and sweeping the child away.
When Treston regained consciousness a frantic search for Ezra took place, until he was located at a hospital in Houston.
The child had suffered severe damage to his brain, kidney and liver after being “kicked, stepped on and trampled, and nearly crushed to death”.
News of Ezra Blount's death was confirmed over the weekend; his family have filed a lawsuit against AstroWorld founder Travis Scott and Live Nation for damages of at least $1 million.
In a statement following the incident, Travis Scott said he was “absolutely devastated by what took place”, pledging to work “together with the Houston community to heal and support the families in need”.
