Astraea’s ‘Looking Up’ Searches For Freedom

It's song of escapism...

Like most of us, Astraea has spent the past 12 months or so staring at the same four walls.

Having grown up in the open spaces of small town Minnesota, these sudden impositions on her freedom hit hard, and caused her to look inwards.

When the time came to escape, she took it – Astraea loaded up her VW camper van, and hit the road, heading towards the Scottish Highlands.

Taking in parts of the North Coast 500, she revelled in the open spaces and rolling landscapes, finally able to fit her lungs with fresh air.

New single 'Looking Up' is part of this process, a song that revels in personal freedom, with lyrics that discuss escapism and the desire to hit the road.

She says…

“After such a tough year of being stuck at home, I wanted to capture that feeling of being free again. Like a lot of people, I struggled with the claustrophobia and isolation of this past year. So when we were allowed to travel domestically again, my dog Zeppelin and I hit the road, driving around beautiful Scotland in VW Campervan and documenting it as we went. It felt so amazing to be able to get out of London and be on the road again!”

The video traces her path, and it includes some of the Highland vistas that have become so inspirational to this young pop talent.

Tune in now.
