Asobi Seksu are set to release their new album ‘Fluorescence’ on February 14th.
With shoegaze en vogue, new groups are emerging faster than you can switch on a digi reverb pedal. However Brooklyn’s Asobi Seksu have been making forward thinking dream-pop for longer than any hipster.
Now onto their fourth album, Asobi Seksu’s lush indie pop will outlast trends and fads. Returning with a blast of new material, the Brooklyn based outfit are pushing the shoegaze template forwards.
The band’s guitar rush is reminiscent of groups such as Ride, but their songcraft is also deeply indebted to 60s psychedelia. Taking time off to work on new material, the latter influences come to the fore on their new album ‘Fluorescence’.
Due to be released on February 14th, the album is the band’s first in two years. Asobi Seksu have decided to preview their new material with the free download single ‘Trails’ which is available now.
An ultra catchy return from the band, Asobi Seksu push their 60s psych side on the blissful cut. Download ‘Trails’ by clicking HERE.
Due out on Valentines Day, ‘Fluorescence’ also features artwork from acclaimed designer Vaughan Oliver (Cocteau Twins, Pixies). Available on CD and digital download, Asobi Seksu have confirmed a limited edition vinyl pressing.
Limited to 1500 copies, the gatefold release will be pressed on pink vinyl. Set to toast the release of the album with a series of live dates, more details on the upcoming tour are forthcoming.
