Cult dream pop group Asobi Seksu are set to return with their new album ‘Hush’ due to be released on February 16th, with a UK tour in the pipeline.
Acclaimed for their previous effort ‘Citrus’ the group – whose name means ‘playful sex’ in Japanese – are renowned for producing wonderfully melodic soundscapes. Known for vast arrangements, ‘Hush’ may surprise fans with its stripped down feel.
“We knew we didn’t want to do 7,000 reverb guitars this time,” says James Hanna, “So we stripped the sound down and built it back up from there.”
Asobi Seksu will preview the album with new single ‘Me & Mary’ due to drop on November 17th. The band are also set to play a host of UK live dates, with headline shows mingling with sets supporting the marvelous Ladytron.
