Art School Girlfriend Announces New Album ‘Soft Landing’

It's out on August 4th...

London based Art School Girlfriend will release new album ‘Soft Landing’ on August 4th.

The songwriter – real name Polly Mackey – caught our attention in 2021, sharing her astute, emotive debut album ‘Is It Light Where You Are?’. Since then, she’s returned to the studio, locating a newfound directness amid her electronic pop nexus.

New album ‘Soft Landing’ emerges from these sessions, which took place at North London hub The Church. Out on August 4th through Fiction Records, it is self-described as a series of “small euphorias”.

A sold out preview show takes place at Third Man Records in London on March 30th, with Art School Girlfriend also sharing the rave-tinged electronics of ‘Close To The Clouds’

She comments…

“Close To The Clouds is about looking back on my twenties with some kind of wistful hindsight. I wanted it to embody the energy of the music I spent a lot of my teenage years and early twenties listening to. It’s about reflecting on the winding path to contentment, having finally figured out how to find it.

“The album title ‘Soft Landing’ is taken from these lyrics, and this track represents a lot of the record’s themes: reflection, joy, coming of age.”

Tune in now.
