William Orbit drops a few hints...

William Orbit has dropped a few hints that Blur are in the studio to work on new material.

Blur’s re-union in the summer of 2009 brought joy to countless fans across the country and beyond. Culminating in those nights at Hyde Park and Worthy Farm, the band rolled back the years with some spectacular performances.

Set to re-unite for the BRITs this year, Blur have been dogged by rumours of new material. Now William Orbit has dropped a series of heavy hints online that the seminal band are back in the studio.

Writing on Twitter, William Orbit composed a message about Fatoumata Diawara, which read: “I just found out that she (Diawara) has done tracks with Damon A, who I’m in the studio with from Wednesday!”

Intrigued? Well check out the following Tweet aimed at Graham Coxon…

“Hi Graham! Loving the guitars you laid down! Vocal sesh Mar 3!!!”

Of course, this could be an altogether unrelated project but the facts do point towards more material from Blur. The band have yet to confirm or deny the reports, but you’ll be the first to find out when they do…

Graham Coxon, meanwhile, has an album of his own to promote. ‘A + E’ will be released on April 2nd, with the accompanying tour featuring local bands who have made it through a rigorous selection process.

Bass player Alex James, meanwhile, had to fend off criticism recently after an article on fast food went viral. Written for The Sun (how could you Alex?!) the article can be found HERE.
