Returning indie giants Arctic Monkeys are set to premiere the video to their forthcoming comeback single ‘Crying Lightning’.
The biggest comeback of the year is almost upon us. Arctic Monkeys are the band who changed the industry, catapulted to fame on the back of an internet led word of mouth campaign.
Before their debut album had even been released fans attending their shows knew every word of every song, with Alex Turner arriving as a fully formed songwriting voice. Arctic Monkeys broke all kinds of records with their debut album ‘Whatever You Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not’ on its release in 2005.
Following this with the celebrated album ‘Favourite Worst Nightmare’ Arctic Monkeys are arguably the definitive British band of the past decade, with a wave of bands following in their wake echoing the group’s depiction of ordinary life.
With a United States tour to begin later this year, including a performance at Lollapalooza, Arctic Monkeys could be set for their long awaited American breakthrough.
Recorded with Josh Homme at the controls, the Sheffield group’s new album ‘Humbug’ is eagerly awaited by fans. ClashMusic caught up with Arctic Monkeys for a brief chat – click HERE to read what they had to say!
Fans have already had a glimpse of the new album – at least, if you live in Australia and New Zealand. Arctic Monkeys used their tour Down Under as 2009 dawned to debut their new album, which received a rapturous reaction.
However the first listen fans will get of a track from the new album is the premiere of Arctic Monkeys forthcoming single ‘Crying Lightning’. Available to buy as a download right now, the video for the track is due to air on Babelgum on Midnight on July 24th.
