Archie Bronson Outfit Album Plans

'Coconut' due in March

British blues rockin’ trio Archie Bronson Outfit are set to release their third album ‘Coconut’ in March.

After The White Stripes tore through the indie rock scene, proving that the 12 bar was still an acceptable musical form a host of acts emerged in their wake. While some were not quite up to snuff, others – step forward Archie Bronson Outift – had rather more original ideas.

Emerging from London the trio were famously discovered by the boss of Domino Records while sinking a pint in his local. The label’s first signing after the success of Franz Ferdinand, the band were burdened by hype and expectation.

Not quite what pop fans were expecting, Archie Bronson Outfit released their debut album ‘Fur’ in 2004. The band’s blend of blues rock bluster and indie songcraft turned them into cult heroes, returning with their quickfire second album in 2006.

Intriguingly titled ‘Derdang Derdang’ the release was followed by a period of silence. Returning to the studio last year sessions have been ongoing for new material, with Archie Bronson Outfit recently completing their long awaited third album.

Titled ‘Coconut’ the new effort is one of the band’s most diverse statements to date. Moving from 70s hard rock inspired riffs to reflective psych the album was recorded on both sides of the Atlantic.

DFA mainman Tim Goldsworthy took control of production duties with Archie Bronson Outfit flying between London and Benton Harbour, Michigan. Early copies of the album are set to feature a new DVD with videos for each track on the record.
