Led by Coldplay's Guy Berryman

Coldplay side project Apparatik have released a new four track EP, which is available to download now.

Coldplay are taking a break, after a hectic eighteen month period which saw them become the biggest band on the planet. 'Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends' topped charts across the globe, with a world tour taking in some of the group's largest ever shows.

A Stateside phenomenon, the band are taking time off to focus on other projects. Guitarist Guy Berryman has joined forces with some close friends to form Apparatjik, who have been working on new material.

Performing their first show in Germany earlier this year, the band appeared in a specially constructed cube. Coldplay star Berryman was joined by A-Ha's Magne Furuholmen, Mew's Jonas Bjerre and Martin Terefe for the show which saw them burst through new material.

Apparatjik are planning to release their debut album later this month. 'We Are Here' is set to be released on both standard and deluxe formats, with the material said to be quite different from Coldplay.

Experimental and at times electronic, Apparatjik have now decided to release a free EP. The three track release is the first sign of the band's new material, and is available to download from the band's website.

The new EP contains the songs 'Antlers', 'Look Kids (Premix AA) Diskjokke A' and the rather menacingly titled '4 Can Keep A Secret If 3 Of Them Are Dead'.

Meanwhile, Coldplay are working on new material with producer Brian Eno. The band are holed up in the studio, with a follow up to 'Viva La Vida' due to be released at some point this year.
