Anti Pop Consortium rapper Beans is working on a solo album featuring Four Tet, TV On The Radio and more.
Emerging from the hip hop scene, Anti Pop Consortium are much more than your average rap crew. Not for them, the scene’s posturing and machismo with those elements instead replaced by a groundbreaking spirit.
Releasing a string of forward thinking albums, Anti Pop Consortium have earned a reputation as one of the most inventive crews around. Now rapper Beans is due to record a solo album, featuring some all star guests.
Hugely respected, it seems that Anti Pop Consortium have made a few friends in high places. Currently recording his new album, Beans will be joined by Tunde Adebimpe from indie rockers TV On The Radio.
Currently on a break, Adebimpe has decided to lend his voice to Beans’ project. TV On The Radio are taking time off, after the richly deserved success of their epic 2008 album ‘Dear Science’.
Joining Beans in the studio, the TV On The Radio is just one name on a glittering roll call. British producer Four Tet has assisted the making of the album, marking Kieren Hebden’s first foray into hip hop for some time.
A huge rap fan, Four Tet will no doubt add something special to the record. Elsewhere, members of math rock Tortoise appear while Interpol drummer Sam Fogarino has assisted with the making of the album.
Pitchfork reports that the album will be named ‘End It All’ with sessions currently wrapping up. Collecting thirteen new tracks, the upcoming record is slated for release in February.
Full details of the collaborations are set to be announced shortly.
