Baltimore avant gardists The Animal Collective are set to return to these shores with a new UK tour announced to coincide with the release of new album ‘Merriweather Post Pavillion’.
The band grew out of childhood friendships, with the bond between them running deep. With a loosely cohesive line up the group have released a stream of material since debut album ‘Spirit They’ve Gone, Spirit They’ve Vanished’ in 2000.
New album ‘Merriweather Post Pavillion’ has already gathered a clutch of great reviews months ahead of its January 2009 release date. Now signed to Domino Records in the UK, the group’s last album was 2007’s ‘Strawberry Jam’ which established them as one of the most unique musical voices in America.
The Animal Collective are set to release their new album ‘Merriweather Post Pavillion’ on January 12th 2009. The band will play the following tour dates:
January 12th – London, Koko
January 13th – Glasgow, School of Art
January 14th – Manchester, Club Academy
January 15th – Brighton, Concorde 2
