American out there rockers The Animal Collective have unveiled the artwork to their new album ‘Merriweather Post Pavillion’ – and no, your eyes aren’t deceiving you!
The trippy new artwork is taken from new album ‘Merriweather Post Pavillion’ which is scheduled for release on January 12th. The band are comprised of musicians from the Baltimore area, and specialize in crafting avant garde sounds.
The Animal Collective are almost an American institution, specializing in crafting huge slabs of psych folk. Their approach varies from album to album, making each release a special event for their large cult following. The band also have their own label Paw Tracks which they use to release their own material and that of other groups.
The band’s last album was the acclaimed ‘Strawberry Jam’ set, which hit town in 2007 through long term home, in the UK at least, Domino Records.
