Animal Collective Announce Audio-Visual Project ‘Tangerine Reef’

It's a full collaboration with Coral Morphologic...

Animal Collective have unveiled plans for new audio-visual project 'Tangerine Reef'.

The new venture finds the group – Avey Tare, Deakin and Geologist – working alongside Coral Morphologic to construct a full audio-visual album.

Described as "a visual tone poem consisting of time-lapse and slow pans across surreal aqua-scapes of naturally fluorescent coral and cameos by alien-like reef creatures" the project coincides with 2018 International Year of the Reef.

Available on on streaming audio services, CD, and 2xLP from August 17th, the record taps into a subject the American group have been passionate about for some time.

Geologist (Brian Weitz) has a masters degree in environmental policy from Columbia University, while Deakin (Josh Dibb) is also a passionate scuba diver.
