Andre 3000 Teases New Album

But his label plays it down...

Andre 3000 has seemingly teased the possibility of a new studio album.

2013 has brought with it as fantastic array of comebacks, returns and rejuvenations. From Boards of Canada to David Bowie, it seems that all manner of greats have decided to get back into the studio.

But Andre 3000? Surely that's one comeback too far, one hope that will remain unfulfilled? Well, at the weekend reports began emerging that the one time Outkast MC could be set to get back into the studio.

As Pitchfork reports, Stephen Hill, the president of programming at BET, bumped into Andre 3000 backstage at a rap show in Washington DC. Seemingly, the following exchange took place: "Me: hey what's up? You got the movie coming, right? Andre 3000: yeah…and I got a solo album coming top of the year. Me:*droptofloor*".

Billboard immediately got in touch with the rapper's representatives for clarification, who said: "Regarding reports of a specific plan to release an album in early 2014, there is no official confirmation on that report."

If true, Andre 3000's new album would be his first since 2003's split Outkast LP 'Speakerboxxx / The Love Below'.
