Troubled singer Amy Winehouse could be set to release a book of poetry about her life.
Amy Winehouse released her last album ‘Back To Black’ in 2006. A massive leap onwards from her debut album ‘Frank’ its mixture of jazz, soul and pop seemed to strike a chord with the listening public and became a massive success.
However once in the spotlight it seemed that Winehouse had no intentions of relinquishing it. Her violent relationship with jailbird husband Blake Fielder-Civil, combined with escalating drug use, made her a favourite with the tabloids who have stalked her every move.
Amy Winehouse has enjoyed huge success in America, scoring a record haul of Grammy Awards for a British female solo artist. However the singer is struggling to record a follow up, with sessions being continually scrapped and re-started.
The singer is currently enjoying the sun in the Caribbean island of St Lucia, where she has apparently entered a creative stage. It remains to be seen if her record company approve any of her ideas, with a reggae album reportedly being kicked into touch.
Tiring of music, Amy Winehouse has now apparently begun writing poetry. A source tells the Daily Star, “Amy’s been stimulated since living in St Lucia. She loves the chilled-out Caribbean atmosphere and has found it has encouraged her to write again.”
“Pete Doherty once told her that poetry was a good way to express yourself, so she thought writing a book of poems about her life would be a fine start.”
Recent recording sessions for Amy Winehouse’s third album reportedly involved Snoop Dogg. The star was recording in Los Angeles when the rapper entered the studio to work on two tracks.
There is no release date for Amy Winehouse’s new album.
