Amy Winehouse / Mark Ronson Spat

Yes, it involves Twitter

British singer Amy Winehouse has lashed out at her former producer and songwriting partner Mark Ronson.

When Amy Winehouse released her debut album ‘Frank’ the singer won critical acclaim but could not break into the mainstream. Teaming up with New York based producer Mark Ronson for a follow up, the pair crafted ‘Back To Black’.

Amongst the most successful British releases of the past decade, the album cracked the United States and established Amy Winehouse as an instantly recognisable icon.

Since then, however, the relationship between the singer and Mark Ronson has collapsed. The pair hooked up to record a potential Bond theme, with the producer storming out of the studio sessions.

After the dust settled the pair returned to the studio together with a second attempt at new material also ending in failure. The producer blamed Amy Winehouse’s escalating drug habit for the row, with the pair continue to trade parting shots in interviews.

Recently appearing on ‘Later… With Jools Holland’ with his Business Intl. project the producer claimed that he had ‘created the tracks’ on ‘Back To Black’ using the singer’s initial acoustic demos as a guide.

Infuriated, Amy Winehouse took to Twitter, denouncing her former sparring partner. “Ronson you’re dead to me; one album I write and you take half the credit – make a career out of it? Don’t think so BRUV.”

Meanwhile, the long wait for a new Amy Winehouse album is set to continue. ‘Back To Black’ was released in 2006, with the singer recently returning to the studio under the guidance of Salaam Remi.

Crafting new material, the singer recently claimed that the album will not be released any later than January.
