AMY charts the dramatic rise of Amy Winehouse, her struggles with addiction and tragic death.
Released earlier this year, the documentary won rave reviews and has been embraced by fans. Remaining a cinematic fixture, AMY is now set to break box office records.
Over the course of the next 24 hours cinema receipts will push AMY beyond Senna to become the highest-grossing British documentary of all time, at the UK box office.
In total, AMY has grossed some £3.16 million in receipts, with more set to follow across the summer.
Hamish Moseley, Head of Distribution at Altitude Film Distribution, said: "AMY is an extraordinary film that we always felt had the potential to be an unusual success and so we are delighted to have surpassed the box office total of SENNA to become the third biggest documentary of all time here in the UK".
