Amy Winehouse Assault Case Update

Star pleads guilty to assault

Record breaking British singer Amy Winehouse has pleaded guilty to assaulting a theatre manager last year.

The long saga of Amy Winehouse continues. The upcoming Grammy awards ceremony marks the second anniversary of the singer’s finest moment, when she bagged five trophies in one night shattering previous records.

Since then, Amy Winehouse has become a tabloid bete noire. Retreating from Britain for the relative safety of the Caribbean, recent attempts to re-launch her career has not gone quite as expected.

A show in the Caribbean was cut short due to weather difficulties, while attempts to record her third album have come unstuck. Producer Mark Ronson reportedly exited sessions last year due to the singer’s spiralling drug abuse.

Now Amy Winehouse is involved in an assault case. Attending a pantomime last year the singer was involved in an incident with a theatre manager. Watching ‘Cinderella’ the singer disrupted the performance. After audience members complained the theatre manager spoke to Amy Winehouse, when a scuffle broke out.

Reported to the police Amy Winehouse today (January 20th) appeared in court charged with a public order offence and common assault. Using the name Amy Civil the star pleaded guilty, after turning herself into police on December 23rd.

Of course, this isn’t the first time Amy Winehouse was been involved in an assault case. Former husband Blake Fielder-Civil was imprisoned for a violent assault, while the singer herself was in court last year accused of assaulting a fan.
