Irish artist amy michelle has shared new song ‘ode to praying to the answering machine’.
The Irish riser caught attention with her thrilling debut EP ‘is that all there is?’, propelled by some viral singles. Going straight back into the studio, she then challenged herself to try something new, conjuring something fresh.
Out soon, new EP ‘felicity stores’ was led by last year’s single ‘patience’, and it finds amy michelle breaking fresh ground. Labelling songwriting a “safety blanket” for her, the Irish artist calls the EP “a journey through navigating the complexities of the human condition, being torn apart and learning how to heal on my own.”
The 22-year-old has just shared new single ‘ode to praying to the answering machine’, and it shows her love of words in full flight. Beautifully pieced together, the range of ideas within the song are held in place by that riveting vocal.
amy comments…
the title of this song adheres to negligence, the state of feeling abandoned. It’s searching for the answers in somebody who can’t give them to you, it’s praying to a god who may or may not be there.
Tune in now.
