AMORE’s ‘Querió’ Is A Fusion Anthem

Madrid interdisciplinary musician AMORE has today shared new single ‘Querió’, the first taste of a larger project slated for release later this year.

‘Querió’ follows last year’s release ‘Last Maria On Earth’, and is produced by Stockholm-based producer Dinamarca. ‘Querió’ is a hymn recontextualised through a simulated futurist palette; snaps of castanets, fluttering soft-synths and AMORE’s precise harmonies all converge for a cascading anthem.

Of the inspiration behind ‘Querió’, AMORE says: “[it’s a] romance between two women, a desire one wishes for herself but is not granted by God, narrated in the most genuine, immediate and popular Spanish language.”

The accompanying video is directed by Virginia Martin, merging contemporary dance with the traditional aesthetics of Spanish jota.
