Amie Blu has shared her new EP ‘crumbs in my bed’.
The South East London singer appeared at Clash Live last night – July 27th – wowing a packed crowd at Cafe KOKO. Previewing material from her latest project, she charmed everyone in the building with her incredible vocals and illuminating demeanour.
A songwriter of real force and impactful subtlety, Amie Blu matches R&B aspects to autobiographical lyricism, maintaining a sheen of complete honesty.
Her latest project is now exceptional. Six tracks of bracing beauty, ‘crumbs in my bed’ dips into Amie Blu’s experiences with her mental health, and how even at her lowest music acted as an anchor in her life.
“For a long time I’ve struggled with my mental health and it often completely consumes my life”, Amie explains. “I wear it on me and I live in it to the point ‘crumbs in my bed’ becomes a very literal title. I wanted to write songs about things that were contributing to my room and what I see others around me going through too. As sad as it is, it can also be comforting to know that many people share similar struggles. I hope people can find comfort in this project.”
Boasting previous singles ‘Powder’, ‘Oh No’, and ‘Grab My Coat’, this forceful EP firmly displays Amie Blu’s intoxicating artistry.
