Amber Arcades will release new album 'European Heartbreak' on September 28th.
Dutch-born musician Annelotte De Graaf won widespread acclaim with her sparkling debut LP, establishing Amber Arcades as a potent new voice in the psych-pop pantheon.
For a follow up, Annelotte teamed up with Chris Cohen from Deerhoof, with 'European Heartbreak' offering a few leaps on from her debut.
The album owes a debt to the extensive travelling which followed her debut, and will be introduced through a trilogy of videos.
New track 'Simple Song' is online now, with Amber Arcades commenting...
This music video forms part two of a trilogy which tells a modern European (love) story, touching on various thoughts and feelings that inspired my new record. Using the medium of film to tell this story ties it to one of the central ideas of the record, which is the essential nature of storytelling in understanding our lives.
For me, part one focused very much on a feeling of isolation, being trapped in an external surrounding which feels anxious and numb at the same time. Part two, the music video for 'Simple Song', translates these feelings into the dynamics of a romantic relationship.
Tune in now.
'European Heartbreak' will be released on September 28th. Catch Amber Arcades at London's Omeara venue on June 7th.
