Ama Lou has shared her new single ‘Caught Me Running’.
Part of a wave of talent in UK R&B, Ama Lou is walking her own path. Melding together soulful elements with a pop touch, the melodic inflections of her work are aligned to lyrics etched in an extremely personal place.
2021’s ‘AT LEAST WE HAVE THIS’ EP marked her out, with Ama Lou then taking a step back to focus on her next step. Clash caught up with her during the final weeks of 2022, and Ama Lou reeled off her upcoming projects.
“Yes, I have been busy,” she told Clash, “but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I thrive best when there is lots to do!”
Now the fruits of her labours are beginning to appear online, with Ama Lou sharing something new. ‘Caught Me Running’ is a beautiful return, all energy and flair with the vocalist igniting a fresh chapter in her life.
Ama links with her sister Mahalia – a frequent collaborator – to construct the video, featuring the vocalist living the life of an aristocrat by the seaside.
